Obviously something that knocks you off your feets

January 23, 2007

Picked up this one from the Scotch Blog.

A new irish whisky from William Grant & Sons that is all about manhood.
If you cant deal with it, don’t try it. The Knot will be test launched in February, in Boston, Wisconsin, Upstate New York and New Jersey; on-premise only (that means at bars & restaurants) due to limited supplies.

I’ve seen this at a couple of liquor stores in the Boston area. It has a strong vanilla taste, which I like.

  2. Aaron Says:

This Irish Whiskey is not like other Irish Whiskey at all. It is a blend of whiskeys and has very strong vanilla tones and goes down extremely smooth, given that it is 100 proof.

  3. Mark C. Says:

Had my first taste Saturday night. While it is a very strong (100 proof) whiskey, the vanilla flavor takes all of the harshness of a blended wiskey away. Very good stuff. Had it at an Irish pub in Haverhill, MA, north of Boston.

Tried this at a boutique resaurant in WI. Outstanding. Very unique flavor. Some call it vanilla; I call it butterscotch. Well worth the taste!

Jusr received a bottle as a gift.
Light caramel/vanilla notes. Too smooth, as it goes
down way too easy. 100 proof can get you in trouble.
    2 jiggers and 2 ice cubes=perfection
I will keep it in my cabinet. I usualy drink Highland Single Malt Scotches or single barrel bourbons.

  6. Found this at the wonderful Yankee Liquors in Sturbridge, Mass. and fell instantly in love. Only trouble with The Knot is that it isn’t sold in New York where I live, or Connecticut where I work. If Irish Mist were 100 proof it might taste like this. Pure heaven.

Absolutly horrible. It’s not a whiskey at all but is in fact a liquer. If you buy this thinking it’s an Irish whiskey you will be disapointed. Regardless of the tough guy marketing this is a girls drink.

  8. Chris Says:

Disgusting. After just one glass I had to drink almost half a bottle of real Irish to get the taste out of my mouth.

    Christ this was bad.
